About Rich Text Format
Common Use Cases
- Converting web content to editable document format
- Creating portable formatted documents from HTML
- Preparing web content for word processor editing
HTML is built for browsers, but sometimes you need web content as a portable document that opens in a word processor. Converting HTML to RTF gives you a formatted file with bold, italic, headings, and tables preserved, ready for editing in Word, LibreOffice, or TextEdit.
HTML is a web markup language rendered by browsers, while RTF is a document format rendered by word processors. Converting transforms web-oriented markup into a desktop-editable document.
Why Convert HTML to RTF?
Edit web content in any word processor
Turn a web page into a document you can edit, annotate, and format in any word processor, from Word to TextEdit to WordPad.
Universal document compatibility
RTF opens in virtually every word processor on every platform. No need to worry about whether the recipient has the right software.
Preserve formatting from HTML
Bold, italic, headings, lists, and tables from the HTML are mapped to RTF formatting, maintaining the visual structure of the content.
