Reddit Video Download
Free Reddit video downloader with sound. We fetch Reddit videos from v.redd.it as clean MP4 files with the audio track muxed back in, so you never end up with a silent clip. Paste any reddit.com thread URL and the video saves straight to your FileFactory library.
This free Reddit video downloader with sound exists because Reddit stores every v.redd.it clip as two completely separate DASH streams, one for video and one for audio, and most throwaway sites that let you download Reddit videos silently drop the audio track and hand you a muted MP4. That is the single most common complaint about Reddit video download tools, and it is the whole reason this pipeline is different.
Fetch grabs both the video DASH stream and the matching audio stream, muxes them together with ffmpeg, and outputs a single MP4 with synced sound.
Paste any reddit.com thread URL (old.reddit.com and redd.it share links also work) and the Reddit video downloader saves the highest resolution the OP uploaded, usually 720p or 1080p, with the audio intact.
Key takeaway: Reddit videos top out at 1080p for most subreddits, with a lot of clips at 720p or 480p. Fetch gives you the highest resolution the original poster uploaded, with synced audio.
Why use our free Reddit video downloader
Audio included, every time
Reddit stores the video and audio tracks separately, which is why most free Reddit downloaders give you a silent clip. Fetch grabs both tracks and muxes them into one MP4, so you get the clip the way it was meant to be watched.
Works across subreddits
Any public subreddit works: main feed posts, crossposts, old archived threads, NSFW subs, niche communities. Paste the Reddit thread URL and Fetch finds the v.redd.it media.
Pick your resolution
Grab the full-quality version for big screens, or drop to 480p for a smaller share file. Fetch adapts to whatever quality the original poster provided.
Saved to your library forever
The MP4 lands in your FileFactory library, not a 60-second temporary download link. Re-download it anytime, share with a transfer link, or stream from the cloud.
How to download Reddit videos with sound
Copy the Reddit post URL
Open the Reddit post that contains the video, then copy the URL from your browser address bar. You can use either old.reddit.com, new.reddit.com, or the short redd.it shortener. Fetch resolves them all.
Paste into FileFactory Fetch
Drop the URL into the input above. MP4 720p is pre-selected, which covers the typical Reddit video. Pick 1080p if the post was uploaded at higher quality, or 480p for a smaller file.
Sign in and download
Sign in with your free FileFactory account (15-second signup) and the MP4 lands in your library with audio included. Download it, share it with a transfer link, or stream it on any device.
Pro tip: For Reddit GIFs (really MP4s that auto-loop), the audio track does not exist in the source. If the clip was uploaded as a silent GIF, it will download silent because there is literally no sound to fetch. That is Reddit's choice, not a bug in Fetch.
Reddit videos max out at whatever resolution the original poster uploaded, capped by the subreddit settings. Most are 720p or 1080p. Fetch grabs the highest resolution stream Reddit serves for that post and combines it with the audio track, no re-encoding. If the clip looks soft or pixelated, that is the original upload, not the download.
Reddit video downloader FAQ
- Is Reddit video download free?
- Yes. Every FileFactory account, including the free tier, can download Reddit videos for free. Free accounts have a daily allowance, Premium and Lifetime users have no cap.
- Do I need an account?
- You need a free FileFactory account, not a Reddit account. Signup takes about 15 seconds, and the video saves to your library so you can re-download or share it later.
- Will the audio be included?
- Yes, as long as the original Reddit post has audio. Fetch downloads both the video and audio streams and muxes them into a single MP4. Silent GIFs will obviously stay silent because there is no audio track to fetch.
- Can I download NSFW or age-restricted videos?
- Yes, as long as the post is public. NSFW subreddits are publicly accessible, so Fetch can pull them the same way as any other subreddit video.
- What is the highest quality I can get?
- Reddit caps video uploads at 1080p for most subreddits, with many clips at 720p or 480p. Fetch gives you the highest native resolution the uploader provided.
- Can I download from private subreddits?
- No. Private subreddits require authentication, which Fetch does not handle. If you can view the post in an incognito window without logging in, Fetch can download it.
- Is this legal?
- Downloading public Reddit content for personal use is generally accepted, but redistributing or reposting another user's work without credit or permission is not. Use this tool for content you own, public interest material, or clips you have permission to save. Respect creators and the Reddit terms of service.
- Why sign in instead of just downloading?
- Signing in gives you a persistent library, transfer links, and re-downloads. Free Reddit downloader sites are ad-heavy and often fail to grab the audio track. FileFactory is a proper file host where every video becomes a real file you own, with sound included.
FileFactory Fetch downloads publicly visible Reddit videos for personal use. Redistributing or reposting another user's content without permission may violate copyright law and the Reddit terms of service. You are responsible for what you download. FileFactory is not liable for user-saved content.
